Family walk in underground Nazi-bunkers
On this family walk you will be equipped with flashlights and led into bunkers built and heavily guarded by the Nazis during the war.
During a two and a half -kilometre walk in hilly terrain we will visit underground constructions with narrow cannon and machine gun positions, dark ammunition storages, moist trenches, and maze-like tunnel constructions. This guided walk takes place on trails along the Ofoten fjord, where five nations met in the Battle of Narvik in 1940. Our experienced guide will give both kids and adults an understanding of why Norway was occupied during the war and why Narvik, a small town in the Arctic, was given such an important role in the world history.
This walk fits everyone and is particularly suited for families with kids in the ages 5–14. The walk includes guiding, admission to Narvik War Museum, surprises for the kids and a souvenir from the walk. In the narrowest and darkest trenches, secrets are hidden that only the brave may expose.
Thanks to funds from Narvik Municipality the price for this walk is heavily reduced for our guests. Welcome!

We end the tour about 15 min walk from where we started.
Participants MUST wear good shoes and appropriate clothing according to the weather. We recommend wearing long pants as there is a lot of vegetation on the trail and around the bunkers. The terrain in and around the bunkers is rough. The trail in between is fairly smooth, but hilly. When it rains the trail and the bunkers may be slippery. Some of the bunkers are narrow, humid and dark. Guests are welcome to bring food and drinks. The tour ends at a shelter/ natural playground where there is opportunity to snack or make a BBQ. Food and drinks are not included.
