JUPITER will perform at Vinterfestuka 2023
After a period of little activity, we have now decided to invest fully in the band again. We release our fifth album "The Wild East" on the Swedish record label Moserobie, and do a launch tour in Norway and Sweden.
Presentation of the ensemble:
JUPITER was established as an organ trio in 2002, and has always been a band in rapid musical development. After four albums and around 150 gigs spread over many tours, the band has developed a distinctive sound. The combination of Jonas Kullhammar's well-known high-octane saxophone playing, Johan Homegard's hard swinging, but at the same time very responsive1 drumming, Steinar Nickelsen's suggestive organ tones and Håvard Stubø's singing, always groovy guitar creates a dynamic and unpredictable musical landscape.
The band's music is clearly rooted in classic American organ jazz, but also offers other references, e.g. to 70s psychedelia, funk, electronic music, new European jazz, etc. The band mainly plays original material written by the band members.
