Transport

Det er flere måter å komme seg til Narvik. De mest populære er med fly (Harstad / Narvik flyplass, Evenes) og med tog fra Sverige (Ofotbanen).

Det er veldig enkelt å komme seg hit med bil, og det er også mulig med båt.

Den vanligste måten er med flybussen. Bussen korresponderer med alle flyvninger til / fra Oslo lufthavn. Les mer om planen her.

Du kan også leie bil eller bruke den lokale taxitjenesten. For å komme til Nordland Taxi, ring 0047 07550.

Den vanligste måten å komme seg til perlene i regionen vår på, er buss- eller leiebiler. Vi anbefaler at du bruker denne reiseplanleggeren for å planlegge ruten hvis du bruker offentlig transport.

Generell informasjon

You will find storage lockers at the train station and at our two shopping centers. Please note that the lockers at the train station require Norwegian coins to operate. 

You can exchange currency at this suvenir shop.

The banks in Narvik does not provide this service.

It is common at restaurants and bars, but not expected. We normally tip 10-20% if the service is satisfying.

The standard voltage in Norway is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz.

In our power outlets, you can use a C or F standard plug with two round pins.

We highly recommend that you read the general rules about provided by Avinor here.

Most of the supermarkets are open between 07:00 - 23:00.

There are two grocery stores that is open on Sundays as well, Joker in the city center and Rema 1000 in Skistua.

Many of Narviks restaurants and bars are open during the holidays.

The most common way is to take the bus. Take Linje 1 (Line 1) from the stop called Rådhuset (City hall) in the middle of town. After approximately 4 minutes, you will be at a stop called Fjellveien. Exit the bus at that stop. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to the cable car. Be sure to pick up a city map at the tourist information!

Narvikfjellet offers car and mobile home parking of you have your own vehicle.

No, unfortunately we have no sightseeing bus or hop-on bus.

The local taxi service offers a round-trip tour of the city for 720 kroner / hour.

No, the church is only open for service, and other ceremonies.

Yes, it is! It takes approximately one hour to walk from the middle of Narvik, to the middle of the bridge.

We highly recommend visiting our local fish market. Read more about it here.

Yes, it is. The Christmas market is normally held at Museum Nord, but we recommend looking it up in our even calendar before you go!

We are so lucky that we have three museums in the middle of town!

Yes, there is! The Narvik region is packed with trails with different degrees of difficulty. Read more about our favorites here, or visit Ut.no, Godtur.no We also recommend visiting Narvik Mountain Tracking Association here, for more information about trails, cabins and more.

Most hotels and restaurants provide wheelchair access, and most of the tours can be done with restricted mobility. We do recommend that you contact the companies so that they know about your requirements before the tour starts. By doing so, you will know if you can participate in this tour, and the company can plan/adjust the tour so that you have the best possible experience.

There is a chance to see animals like reindeer, moose and fox in the wild. We do however recommend visiting them in Polar Park, the worlds northernmost animal park.

Please note: Looking for wild animals can be dangerous, and we do not encourage this.

Normally, no. The whales rarely travel this far into the fjord.

The Northern Lights are visible in the Arctic parts of Norway from September through March.

Narvik and the Narvikregion is ideally located right under the Northern Lights Oval.

The Midnight Sun shines between 24th of May – 19th of July, and we recommend getting some altitude to get the best possible view!

Yes, we recommend booking it advance. This would help the company to plan the tour, and guarantee you a spot on the tour when you are in the Narvik region.

Yes, you can! All the tours you can book online can also be booked and paid in our tourist information. We accept credit card and cash payment (Norwegian currency only).

No, the Sami people does not live in separate villages, but we have Sami families in the region that do tours based on the Sami culture. Read more about the Sami people and see the tours here.
