Ballangen Museum
The museum is housed in the old administration building of the mining company Bjørkaasen Gruber, a venerable structure dating back to 1919, and is worth a visit for that reason alone.
For many years, the lifeblood of the Ballangen community was the mining industry, and the museum's main theme is naturally mining history. Through a unique collection of artifacts, you gain insight into the area's former heyday, as well as local farming culture, schooling, and household life.
Opening Hours – Summer 2025 (June 23 to August 16)
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 10 AM – 3 PM
