Norges posisjon i et endret sikkerhets-politisk bilde

Foredrag om Russlands militære utvikling, endringer i USAs utenrikspolitikk og konsekvensene for oss

Welcome to this exciting and important lecture with Professor Katarzyna Zysk. Professor Zysk is a professor of International Relations and Contemporary History at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS), which is part of the Norwegian Defence University College (FHS) in Oslo. At IFS, she has also served as Deputy Director (201721), Research Director, and Head of the Centre for Security Policy. In 2016, she was Acting Dean at FHS. In this lecture, she will focus on the threat from Russia and the implications this has for Norwegian and allied deterrence and defense in Europe in general, and the Arctic region in particular. She will address questions such as: - What are Russias strategic objectives, and what can they tell us about the countrys likely patterns of behavior going forward? - What can the ongoing large-scale military reform tell us about the type of war Russia is preparing for? - She will also discuss how changes in U.S. global priorities affect Norwegian and European security, as well as the role of the Arctic in a shifting security landscape. This is a unique opportunity to hear from one of the foremost experts in the field, ask questions, and gain new perspectives. The event is open to everyone.
