Booking conditions

Visit Narvik AS is responsible for forwarding your booking to the supplier, who is responsible for carrying out the activity, rental or delivery of accommodation in line with your booking.

We make sure that you receive information before the arrival date and our suppliers will contact you if there are significant changes or cancellations that apply to your booking. The agreement may apply to the booking of accommodation and activities or to the purchase of other products and services, or in a combination of these.

Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email with a reference number. Name and booking reference must be provided to the supplier upon arrival. You must be at least 18 years old to make bookings via Visit Narvik AS.

Payment and security

Payment is made when the booking is completed. Visit Narvik AS is responsible for the transaction itself, and that the correct amount is deducted from your account. If the payment was not completed on your part, no order will be created.

All personal information is provided on an encrypted page (SSL 128 bit) where it is secure to provide information about yourself and your credit card. Only Visit Narvik AS and the supplier of the product you have ordered will have access to your name and contact information. This information will be used for booking management (change/cancellation of booking) and may be used in various market research activities.

Cancellation/change on your part

To cancel or change your booking, you must contact us directly at Visit Narvik AS. Cancellations are made by contacting [email protected].

If the cancellation is made less than 7 days before arrival, please contact both the supplier and Visit Narvik AS. Visit Narvik has no control over the exchange rate that will be calculated for refunds to credit cards and cannot take responsibility for any loss of funds.

Please note that Visit Narvik AS does not pay any costs for international bank transfers. The fee is covered by the refund amount (approx. 50 NOK when using international bank transfer).

The following deadlines apply:

  • Cancellations can be made up to 7 days before arrival/start time with a full refund.
  • Cancellations between 3 and 6 days before arrival will be refunded 50% of the total cost.
  • Cancellation 2 days before arrival/start time does not give a refund. A change on your part is considered a cancellation.

Cancellations/significant changes on our part

Cancellations/significant changes may occur in the event of:

  • Matters over which we or the supplier have no control; e.g. weather conditions, breakdowns, labor disputes, etc.
  • That conditions are not met, such as conditions about the minimum number of participants. For most trips, there is a minimum number of participants to 2 full-paying people.

If such cancellation/significant change occurs, and you do not accept any alternative offer from the supplier you may receive on site, we will refund 100% of the tour price. However, in order to give you the best possible experience, we reserve the right to make minor adjustments to tour arrangements. Such adjustments may occur, for example, due to weather and driving conditions.

Visit Narvik AS is not responsible for any delays in the refund amount.

Insurance/Cancellation Protection

We recommend all our customers to make sure they have good insurance agreements before the trip, in case of illness, luggage, accident, liability and the like.

Our suppliers

We are responsible for ensuring that our suppliers are paid for what you have ordered through us. Our suppliers are responsible for each part of your program, including complete insurance, permits, equipment, staffing, etc., which are in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to the provider at any given time.

Price Groups

The supplier determines the price level and age limit for the child and youth price. Student price: only valid with a valid student card. Senior/Senior discount: applies to guests aged 67 and over or for those with a valid senior card. The necessary documentation must be presented upon arrival.

Complaints

Please note that any complaints or other inquiries related to the individual product must be directed directly to the supplier in question. Visit Narvik AS does not assume responsibility for the individual offer. Visit Narvik AS is only responsible for forwarding your booking to the supplier, who is responsible for the implementation of the activity, delivery of accommodation or rental of equipment in line with your booking.

It is the supplier who must ensure that both safety and the delivery of the product are in line with the description.

Visit Narvik AS is not responsible for any illness in connection with boat or car trips.

Visit Narvik AS is not responsible for you seeing the Northern Lights during Northern Lights tours, or other attractions that depend on weather or nature.

Service fee

When you book activities via Visit Narvik, you contribute to the development of sustainable year-round tourism, hosting, increased value creation both in the city and in the rural areas, and to ensuring safe, lasting jobs for those who live here.

The service fee is NOK 25 per booking and is applied to every transaction made through our website, our agent portals or in our visitor centres.

Terms and conditions, accommodation in Narvikfjellet

Our terms and conditions are automatically approved at the time of booking. Terms and conditions apply to the following accommodations: Camp 291 and Basecamp Narvik

1. Ordering

1.1. The customer must be at least 20 years old
1.2. Check the confirmation you receive by e-mail, so that it is in accordance with the order
1.3. A booking is binding as soon as a booking number has been assigned to the guest and payment has been completed/agreed. It is the orderer's responsibility to check that the arrival and departure dates as well as other information are essential to the booking, are correct.
1.4. Group bookings for accommodation must be made in writing to [email protected]
1.5. The Orderer is responsible for providing correct information.

2. Payment

2.1. When ordering/purchasing, the amount must be paid in full. The guest must receive an electronic booking confirmation sent by e-mail to the e-mail address provided.
2.2. Narvikfjellet uses a payment solution from Nets and you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Visa Prepaid, Bankaxcept, Amex.
2.3. When paying on site/drop-in, foreign currency is not accepted.
2.4. When invoicing to companies, an organization number and any credit check are required. We operate with a 14-day credit period, etc. something else has been agreed. Payment by invoice must be agreed in advance.
2.5. When invoicing private guests, national identity numbers and social security numbers are required. The 14-day due date also applies here. Payment by invoice must be agreed in advance.
2.6. No refunds will be given for paid additional products/services that are not used for various reasons.

3. Cancellation and changes

3.1. Orders via the internet must be changed/cancelled in the same channel as the booking was made.
3.2. Extension of stay/booking cannot be guaranteed and is subject to occupancy. Price may also vary.
3.3. Bookings via phone/email/reception can be changed/cancelled until [email protected].
3.4. The cancellation policy is the same regardless of how/where the booking is made.
3.5. Cancellation policy:

3.5.1. Cancellation 0-2 days before arrival: 100% fee (Changes/cancellations must be made before 12:00)
3.5.2. Cancellation 3-7 days before arrival: 50% fee (Changes/cancellations must be made before 12:00)
3.5.3. Cancellation 8 days or more before arrival: 0% fee

Camp 291

3.5.4. Cancellation 0-7 days before arrival: 100% fee (Changes/cancellations must be made before 12:00)
3.5.5. Cancellation 8-14 days before arrival: 50% fee (Changes/cancellations must be made before 12:00)
3.5.6. Cancellation 15 days or more before arrival: 0% fee
3.6. In the event of unforeseen events that mean that the stay must be interrupted/shortened, no refund will be given. Narvikfjellet recommends all guests to take out travel insurance in advance of their stay, and that any compensation claims are directed there.

4. During your stay

4.1. The Lessor does not take responsibility for any self-inflicted personal injuries during the stay.
4.2. The landlord does not take responsibility for damage to the building/inventory caused by the guest during the stay.
4.3. The Owner is not responsible for the Guest's valuables stored in and around the Accommodation.
4.4. Lost and found items are stored for 3 months (in accordance with the Lost Property Act). Items of greater value are then handed over to the police. Items with a lower value are destroyed and disposed of. Delivery/shipping costs are charged to the customer. When shipping (applies to both domestic and international shipments), the guest must be responsible for ordering and paying for the shipping label, collection and shipping of the item. We pack the item securely.
4.5. If the rules in the cabin book (link in booking and physically available in all cabins) are not followed, this may result in a financial claim for compensation for the guest, depending on the extent of the violation.
4.6. If the guest defies the prohibition against smoking in one of our units, a fine will result:
4.6.1 Basecamp - NOK 5000 per room and NOK 7000 for Polar Suite.
4.6.2 Camp 291 – NOK 5000 per small cabin and NOK 7000 per large cabin.
4.7. Accommodation is only valid for the number of guests stated in the booking confirmation.
4.8. As a guest, you are responsible for reading and familiarising yourself with practical information for your stay.
4.9. In a situation where a chip or physical key has been handed over to the guest, the guest is responsible for handing over the chip/key before departure. If the chip/key has not been delivered on departure, it will result in a fee:
4.9.1. Physical key NOK 500,-
4.9.1. Chip NOK 150,-

5. Deviations

5.1. Deviations or defects in ordered goods/services must be notified immediately so that Camp 291 and Basecamp Narvik can rectify/correct the deviation. More information can be found in the cabin rules and on the website.

6. Data Retention and Privacy

6.1. Link to Privacy Policy on www.narvikfjellet.no.

7. Final provisions

7.1. Narvikfjellet AS reserves the right to change the terms and conditions, with immediate effect. The latest version of these terms and conditions will always be available on Narvikfjellet.no.
7.2. The terms and conditions apply from the time of booking until the end of departure control of the accommodation.
