Experience the Narvik region by train

Narvik is home to Norway's northernmost train station and offers some of the most spectacular train journeys in the Nordic region. Trains are both a convenient and adventurous way to explore the region. Narvik train station is centrally located in the city center with a short distance to hotels, restaurants and activities.

Ofotbanen

The Ofot Line runs between Narvik and the Swedish border at Bjørnfjell and is considered one of Europe's most beautiful railway lines. Along the route you will experience: fjords, waterfalls, mountain scenery and Arctic nature without parallel. The stations Katterat and Bjørnfjell are popular starting points for both hiking and summit skiing in the area.

SJ's daily scheduled train between Stockholm and Narvik is also an alternative to reach the stations in the high mountains if you are only going one way a day as there is only one daily departure. Tickets can be ordered at www.sj.se 

International train connections

The railway continues on the Swedish railway network at the national border and is a spectacular transport route between Narvik, Riksgränsen, Björkliden, Abisko and Kiruna. The daily train departure of SJ provides a comfortable and sustainable connection between the destinations in Northern Norway and Northern Sweden. And is a particularly good transport between Narvik and the popular Swedish high mountain destinations Riksgränsen and Björkliden
