Travel Programs

The Narvik region offers unique experiences and flexible opportunities for tailored travel programs throughout the year.

Here, meetings, conferences and group trips can be combined with activities and experiences in compact surroundings that create strong memories and build relationships far beyond the event itself. The region offers a varied range of activities and experiences from gondola rides, skiing and Northern Lights experiences to fjord cruises, Arctic food, cultural history and experiences along the Ofoten Line with the Arctic Train.

Visit Narvik and our partners are happy to assist with the development of comprehensive programs adapted to different target groups, needs and seasons. Whether it is management groups, professional conferences, customer events or international groups, we facilitate experiences that combine professional content with the best the Narvik region has to offer.

The Narvik region is a destination where the experiences start right outside the meeting room. See our popular suggestion for winter program in Narvik:

1. Welcome to the Arctic

Arrival and check-in
Guests are received at Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes (EVE) and driven to Narvik together with a dedicated host. The approximately one-hour drive goes through a landscape characterized by fjords and mountains, before checking in at a hotel in the center of Narvik.

Evening
The program starts with a private welcome dinner at Fiskekroken. Among other things, the house fish burger, fried cod tongues and internationally inspired seafood dishes such as grilled stockfish are served. The meal is combined with local aquavit and stories from Narvik's coastal history.

2. Mountains, wildlife and panoramic views

Morning – conference
Half-day conference in the hotel's meeting and conference facilities, with the necessary AV equipment and coffee breaks inspired by northern Norwegian flavors.

Afternoon – option 1: Skiing in Narvikfjellet
Take the gondola up into the mountains and experience the ski resort that will be the arena for the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2029. The program can be combined with guided off-piste skiing and a photo stop at altitude, with a view of the Ofotfjord from around 1,000 meters above sea level.

Afternoon Option 2: Wildlife in Polar Park
Private tour of the world's northernmost zoo, with the opportunity to experience wolves, lynx and bears in natural surroundings.

Evening
The gondola takes the group up to the Mountain Restaurant, where the evening continues with barbecue over an open fire and après-ski with a DJ, with the possibility of the Northern Lights as a backdrop. Later, the evening can be rounded off with tapas and cocktails at Linken Sky Bar.

3. Across the border – trains, mountains and culture

Morning
Travel with Arctic Train on a private charter along the Ofotbanen, from the fjord in Narvik and up through the dramatic mountain landscape towards the Swedish border. Along the way, aperitifs are served before the train crosses the border and continues into the area around Riksgränsen.

Afternoon – Option 1: Snowmobiling and Ice Fishing
Join a guided snowmobile tour through the open winter landscape on the Swedish side. The program is combined with ice fishing and a hot Arctic lunch at a lavvu.

Afternoon – option 2: Skiing in Riksgränsen
Explore the 15 marked slopes in Riksgränsen Ski Resort, or join a guide in the areas that have made Riksgränsen famous for off-piste skiing.

Evening
The return to Narvik takes place with the Après-ski Train, with a bar and live music on board. The evening ends with a three-course dinner in candlelight and a private concert in Lokstall1 – a restored locomotive shed where Narvik's railway and industrial history meets modern event venues and good acoustic conditions.

4. Arctic well-being and the end of the fjord

Morning – Arctic sauna
Start the day with a sauna by the harbour, where the heat can be combined with a refreshing bath in the fjord.

Possible extension of day 4
For groups with more time, the program can be expanded with a RIB trip into the Skjomenfjord. Along the way, you can spot sea eagles and porpoises, while the landscape opens up to the mountains and the blue ice of Frostisen.

Midday – boat trip through the Ofotfjord
The journey back to the airport can start by boat through the Ofotfjord. Along the way, guides share stories from World War II and local tales, while a light lunch is served on board.

Departure
The program ends at the airport. Luggage transport can be organised throughout the day to make finishing as easy as possible.

We help you plan

The program above is one example of how courses, conferences and company trips can be combined with experiences in the Narvik region. The content can be adapted to the group's size, interests, time frame and season, from individual activities to complete programs of meetings, transportation, meals and experiences.

Visit Narvik is happy to help you find the right solutions and connect you with local partners. Together, we can put together a program that provides space for both the professional content and the experiences that make the trip to Narvik something more than just a meeting.
