Together for the destination

Through the Destination Management, we gather industry, municipalities and other actors around common priorities for the development of the Narvik region as a sustainable destination.

Sustainable destination development requires collaboration across industry, municipalities, local communities and other actors that influence the development of the destination. No one can do the job alone. When Visit Narvik asked member companies and employees which of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals are most important in the work with tourism development in the Narvik region, Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Cooperation to achieve the goals – was ranked highest.

This corresponds well with the need that both the industry and the municipalities have pointed out: a clearer and more coordinated collaboration on the development of the destination. On this basis, Visit Narvik has worked to establish the Destination Management in the Narvik region.

The purpose of the destination management in the Narvik region is to ensure a coordinated, strategic and sustainable development of tourism in the Narvik region.
