Description

Elvedalen is a nature meeting place in Taraldsvik, north of Narvik city center. The area serves as a green lung in the city, where the Taraldsvik river flows through the valley and creates a quiet setting for short walks, play, activity and breaks in everyday life.

The area is developed with paths, walkways, rivers and small bridges. Here you can stroll along the river, sit down on a bench, use the beach volleyball court or gather at the shelter and barbecue hut. Elvedalen is well suited for those who want a low-threshold nature experience without going far from the city.

Elvedalen has universal design, lighting and artistic elements. This makes the area more accessible and usable as a local outdoor area throughout most of the day and year.

The Taraldsvik river is the only natural watercourse that runs through the urban area of Narvik. This gives Elvedalen a clear local significance, both as a recreational area and as a place where nature is still close to city life.
