Description

This is OffTrack Experience's longest and most extensive dog sledding expedition. The journey goes deep into Dividalen National Park, through a winter landscape of frozen waters, quiet birch valleys, mountain passes and high plateaus. Each participant drives their own team of Alaskan huskies and follows the pace of the expedition through the terrain.

The dogs are a central part of the experience. Along the way, you learn how to handle the dog team, harness, feed and participate in the daily routines. The guides provide training and accompany the group throughout the expedition, while the interaction between the dogs, the weather and the landscape becomes a natural part of the journey.

The route goes through an area that has been used by Sami reindeer herders for centuries. Tracks of reindeer, moose, foxes, grouse and wolverines may appear in the snow, but the conditions in the mountains determine both the route and the pace. Flexibility is therefore an important part of the expedition.

The nights are spent on the husky farm and along the way in simple mountain cabins, reindeer herding cabins or expedition tents, depending on the route and conditions. This is an experience for guests who want to get close to the dogs, nature and a simple expedition life in the winter mountains.
