Description

We travel across varied and breathtaking terrain: through snowy woods, along frozen rivers, across open dales, and over rolling hills. Nature’s beauty here will take your breath away.

Drive the Sled Yourself – A True Arctic AdventureDid you know that a well-trained sled dog can run up to 500 km in just a few days? That’s the distance from Oslo to Trondheim! And after some rest and food, they’re ready to do it all over again. Why? Because sled dogs simply love to run!

At Husky Isogaisa, we offer a hands-on experience where you will drive the sled yourself. Before we start, we provide thorough training in English on how to handle the sled safely. This activity is designed specifically for guests who want to actively participate and drive their own sled, not just ride as passengers. Your safety and the welfare of the dogs are our highest priorities.

You and your partner will share a sled with 4–6 dogs, where one of you drives while the other rides. Ready, set, go!

Midway through the tour, we take a short break to let the dogs rest. Here, you have the opportunity to switch drivers and take memorable photos. The tour is led by an experienced guide with their own dog team, ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience.

When the tour is over, we thank each dog for their hard work – and they absolutely love it! You’ll feel like you’ve made new four-legged friends.

Relax and Immerse Yourself in Sami CultureAfter the dog sledding adventure, we invite you into a cosy, heated lavvu (traditional Sámi tent), where you’ll join us for a magical Northern Lights Ceremony, led by a Sámi shaman.

We relax, enjoy traditional Sámi food, and listen to stories from Sápmi. According to Sámi tradition, the souls of our ancestors dance in the sky on cold winter nights. In Sámi, we call this Guovssahas—the Northern Lights. Would you dare to wave back? Or perhaps it’s better to take part in a ceremony that prepares you to greet Guovssahas?

The experience ends with a delicious serving of biidus, a traditional Sámi meal, along with coffee and cakes. Vegetarian options are available upon request.

This is an experience you won’t soon forget. In Sámi tradition, we deeply respect the Northern Lights – the souls of our ancestors dancing in the sky. Now, you have the chance to meet them.
