Description

The trip takes you from Narvik and into a mountain landscape characterized by fjords, high mountains, snow and ice. One of the alternatives goes along the Skjomenfjord and further up towards the mountains near the Swedish border, heading for the large glacier at Storsteinsfjellet.

On the way to the glacier, the mountain landscape gradually opens up, before the glacier and the top of Storsteinsfjellet come into view. At the foot of the glacier, the group gets ready with crampons, ice axes, climbing harnesses, helmets and ropes. From there, the trip goes out on the ice and snow, where the guide adapts the exploration to the weather, conditions and the group.

Another possible hiking destination is the glacier at Sovende Dronning, which is visible from the center of Narvik. The choice of glacier area is made based on weather and current ice and snow conditions. On the drive back to Narvik, there will be a short stop by the fjord with the opportunity for a dip in the sea.
