Description

The Northern Lights do not follow a fixed plan, and neither does this trip. Together with a local guide from Day Out Narvik, you go in search of clear skies and good conditions to see the Northern Lights. Before and during the tour, the guide assesses weather forecasts and Northern Lights activity, and the evening's route is adapted to the conditions.

When the weather is good in the Narvik area, the hunt takes place locally. On evenings where conditions are better elsewhere, the trip can continue in the direction of Lofoten or across the border to Sweden. Along the way, you will gain insight into how the guide assesses weather, clouds and Northern Lights activity, so you will also learn more about how to look for the Northern Lights on your own later in your stay.

When conditions allow, a longer stop is made out in the landscape. Here you can light a fire and serve hot drinks, snacks and traditionally prepared waffles. This gives you time to wait for the Northern Lights and experience the winter evening under the open sky.

The guide will also help you photograph the Northern Lights, whether you use a camera or smartphone, and take photos and portraits from the evening. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed, but the route and program are adapted to find the best possible conditions on the night in question.
