Description

Reinneset is located in Skjomen, a scenic area known as Northern Norway's answer to the Hardangerfjord, with steep, bare mountains rising up to 1800 meters above sea level around the fjord. The trip takes place in a landscape that feels raw and open, with the granite under your feet and the fjord close by. The trail starts on the upper side of the road and follows the ridge up the mountain. The first part goes between scattered, small mountain pines before the terrain opens up more and more. Along the way, the view increases almost with every step, with Skjomen below you and the mountains on the other side of the fjord as a clear frame for the trip. This is a short mountain hike with a lot of experience in a few kilometers. The trip is 4 kilometers round trip, with 337 meters of elevation gain and about 1.5 hours in walking time. The difficulty level is medium/blue, and the hike is suitable for beginners and hikers with average good endurance. After the first unmarked part, you eventually meet cairns that lead further up. At the radio mast and the power line, the path splits, and here you keep right. After a continuous climb, the terrain flattens out at a small cairn with a trim box. Here you can write yourself into the book before taking the same way back.
