Roast Fritz Aanes Harstad VS Narvik 2.0

Next occasion
For generations, Harstad and Narvik have been competing over just about everything. Which city is better, whose people are smarter, whose nightlife is superior – and, most importantly, which town actually knows how Northern Norway is supposed to work.

There have been decades of friendly arguments, cheap shots, local legends and a healthy amount of mutual trash talk. It may not always have been serious, but one thing is certain: neither city likes losing.

Now, it's time to settle the score where it belongs: on stage.

After facing what can only be described as a seriously biased audience in Harstad, I'm heading to BY1 in Narvik for a little payback. I'm not coming to make peace. I'm coming to even things out – with jokes, sharp observations and absolutely no intention of letting anyone off the hook.

Because this rivalry is about more than two towns on a map. It's about pride, identity and the eternal Northern Norwegian question: who can take a joke, and who starts getting defensive the moment their hometown gets mentioned?

Description

Expect a night packed with roasting, uncomfortable local truths, long-standing stereotypes and the unmistakable competitive spirit of Northern Norway. We're talking hometown pride, questionable local habits, familiar characters and all the little things that make people from Harstad and Narvik love giving each other a hard time.

Nobody is off-limits. Not the towns, not the audience, and certainly not the people who think they're too important to be roasted. There will be sharp punchlines, plenty of self-deprecating humour and jokes that hit a little harder when you actually know the places and people involved.

Narvik will get its chance to defend its honour. Harstad will get to experience the consequences of its previous provocations. And the audience will witness a showdown where there may be no official winner, but there will almost certainly be bruised egos, wounded hometown pride and plenty of stories to take home.

People from Harstad are, of course, more than welcome. Come sit in the front row, laugh along and defend your hometown if you can. You'll need a thick skin, a good sense of humour and perhaps a convincing argument for why Harstad deserves all the praise it gives itself.

The only question is: Are you brave enough to show up when revenge is on the menu?

Narvik, it's your turn. Let the rivalry begin!
