The trail goes with a steady climb uphill in the forest terrain. It's well-trodden, clear, and easy to follow. Expect around 30-45 minutes up at a leisurely pace, depending on the starting point and pace.

Once up on the ramp, the landscape opens up. Here you get a panoramic view of Kjøpsvik, Tysfjorden and the surrounding peaks – a clear meeting between fjord, mountains and local communities in the Narvik region. At the top, Kjøpsnes IL has set up a shelter with a fire pit, which makes the place well suited for a coffee break or a quiet walk with the family.

From the center of Narvik, follow the E6 south towards Ballangen. Drive through Ballangen and further over the Efjord bridges. After the bridges, continue for a short distance before turning left and following highway 827, towards Kjøpsvik. Continue on through the tunnels and along the fjord towards Kjøpsvik. Turn north at the roundabout on Kjøpsvikveien, fv. 827, on the north side of the tunnel through Kjøpsvik. Drive Damveien, which is a gravel road, to the parking lot by the dam.

Park by the dam and follow the road towards the shooting house. On the left side of the road you will see a large board with hiking signs. This is the starting point for the trips. Furthermore, marker poles have been set up to show the way at the start, before you follow a clear path further up. The route is also well signposted and marked.
