Visit Narvik is Eco-Lighthouse certified

As an Eco-Lighthouse-certified company, Visit Narvik works systematically with climate, environment and working environment in its own operations.

The certification gives us tools to document improvements, make more responsible choices and contribute to a more sustainable development of the Narvik region as a destination.

The Eco-Lighthouse certification is an important part of Visit Narvik's work with sustainability. It helps us to work more systematically with climate, the environment and the working environment, and gives us a basis for measuring development and improvement over time.

As a destination company, we also have a role beyond our own operations. Through cooperation, communication and development work, we want to influence and motivate more players in the Narvik region to make good environmental choices and work more systematically with sustainability.

Our environmental policy describes the principles that form the basis for this work.

Environmental policy

Visit Narvik's Environmental Policy

Visit Narvik will be a responsible player that actively contributes to a more sustainable development. Our work for the climate and the environment takes place both through daily operations and in our development and advocacy work. Our environmental policy must be characterized by transparency, and our employees must know and identify themselves through the environmental policy. We aim to reduce risk and exploit opportunities related to climate and the environment.

We take social responsibility and commit to:

  • Embed sustainability in all parts of our business.

  • Emphasize environmental considerations in agreements and cooperation with partners and member companies.

  • Sort waste at source and reduce our overall amount of waste.

  • Collaborate with municipalities, county councils, the business community, policy instruments and the local community, so that our work supports common environmental goals.

  • Communicate clearly about our climate and environmental work, both internally and externally.

  • Ensure that all employees work in line with Visit Narvik's environmental policy and environmental goals.

  • Ensure a safe and good working environment through a separate action plan.

  • Through our work Eco-Lighthouse and our work with the Sustainable Destination label, we will continue to influence and motivate member companies to become environmentally certified.

This policy is revised as necessary and at least every three years. It has been adopted by all employees of Visit Narvik on 19.08.2025.
