Grjotangr Sauna

Unwind at the wood-fired public sauna in Gratangen, thoughtfully designed, crowd-funded, and constructed by the local community.

Nestled by the shore at the bottom of the scenic Gratangsfjord, the sauna is a must-visit! After an exciting day of outdoor activities, unwind in the cozy, wood-paneled fjord-side sauna, where you can alternate between the soothing warmth and refreshing dips in the cool fjord waters.

The sauna, with its sleek modern design and circular construction process using repurposed 100-year-old materials, adorned with decorations by a local glass artisan, adds an extra layer of charm to your experience. It stands as a testament to how a small community can achieve something remarkable and sustainable through recycling, collective effort, and minimal resource use. Plus, it serves as a stunning backdrop for your photos.

Easily accessible, the sauna is just a short walk from the parking lot. It's open to everyone, offering both private and drop-in sauna sessions. Enjoy!
