The Ofoten Amateur Geological Association invites you to Geology Day 2026 – an exciting and educational weekend for everyone interested in rocks, minerals and geology. Visitors of all ages can explore the world of minerals, learn more about the geological treasures of Ofoten and Northern Norway, and perhaps even discover a little treasure of their own.

Description

Throughout the weekend, you can explore a large mineral exhibition featuring fascinating examples of minerals found in Ofoten and Northern Norway. There will also be opportunities to purchase minerals and jewellery, as well as see equipment used for jewellery cutting and polishing.

Children and young people can take part in several fun activities, including a geological nature trail and a treasure hunt using metal detectors. You can also join the mineral treasure hunt and see what you can discover!

If you are already fascinated by rocks and minerals, there will be plenty of opportunities to chat with fellow enthusiasts and share experiences, knowledge and discoveries.

There will also be a quick lottery, and refreshments such as coffee, soft drinks and snacks will be available. A simple dinner will also be served.
