Description

At Husky Isogaisa, you get to meet sled dogs who love to run, and experience dog sledding up close. This is an active experience where the guests not only sit on, but get to take part in driving the dog team themselves.

Before the trip, you will receive thorough instruction in how to handle the sled. Then you and your tour partner get your own team of huskies, where one drives the sled while the other sits on. Along the way, the trip is led by an experienced guide with his own dog team, with safety for both guests and dogs as the highest priority.

Halfway through, there is a short break where the dogs can rest, and where you can change handlers and take pictures. After the walk, you will have time to thank the dogs for their efforts and get to know them better. The hosts also tell you more about what it means to do dog sledding, and how the dogs are taken care of.

The experience ends in a heated lavvu, where wraps with smoked salmon, cranberries and sour cream are served, as well as hot drinks.
