Description

When there is no snow, you can join OffTrack Experience on dog sledding with sturdy wagons along the forest paths around the farm in Øverbygd. The experience provides a close encounter with the dogs and an insight into how they are trained and work also outside the winter season.

Before the trip, you get to take part in the preparations and see how the dogs are harnessed. Then the journey goes out through coniferous forest and along paths with a view of the mountains. Participants drive in pairs and can take turns being driver and passenger along the way.

An experienced guide follows the trip and ensures safe completion. Along the way, you get to feel how the dog team works together and how pace, terrain and cooperation are closely connected.

After the tour, guests gather in the log house. Hot drinks, homemade cake, snacks and reindeer soup are served here, while the hosts share stories about the dogs and life at the kennel through the different seasons.

From the center of Narvik, follow the E6 north towards Tromsø. Continue on the E6 through Bjerkvik and further north. Turn off towards Øverbygd and follow the road on to Evenmoveien 158.

The drive takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Narvik.
