Two distinctive voices from the Norwegian and international jazz scene come together on stage!

With Spellemann Award nominations, critically acclaimed album releases and extensive touring in Norway and abroad, Siril Malmedal Hauge and Kjetil Mulelid have established themselves as prominent voices in contemporary jazz.

The duo began their collaboration in autumn 2022, and since then they have performed more than 50 concerts across Norway, Europe, South Korea, China and Japan.

Description

Siril Malmedal Hauge is a Norwegian vocalist, instrumentalist, composer and lyricist with strong roots in the jazz tradition. Known for her distinctive phrasing, musical presence and exceptional ability to connect with an audience, she has made her mark both nationally and internationally.

She has released several albums of her own, received awards in Japan and been nominated for an Independent Music Award in New York. She has toured extensively throughout Europe, Japan and South Korea. Siril has been appointed Jazz Ambassador for NTNU and received the Jazztalent Award at Moldejazz. Her album Slowly, Slowly (Jazzland, 2021) was nominated for the Spellemann Award in the jazz category.

Kjetil Mulelid is a pianist and composer who has established himself as one of Norway’s leading jazz pianists. His distinctive and highly personal playing style has made him a strong voice in contemporary jazz.

Mulelid has released several albums with his own piano trio, as a solo artist and with the quartets Wako and Beiggja. His career has taken him to hundreds of concerts across Europe, Asia and North America, while his music has reached millions of listeners worldwide. He has also received several Spellemann Award nominations.

When Hauge and Mulelid perform together as a duo, they create an intimate musical dialogue shaped by improvisation, melodic depth and spontaneity. This is contemporary jazz with warmth, playfulness and a powerful ability to engage the audience.
