“A World in Motion” with Fargespill Narvik

Next occasion
Welcome to A World in Motion – a colourful musical journey through cultures, emotions and human connections. Together with Musikk i Nordland, Fargespill Narvik invites audiences to a performance celebrating diversity, community and the unique power of music to build bridges between people.

This year marks a very special milestone: ten years since the beginning of what was originally known as Flere Farger kompani, which has since developed into Fargespill kompani. Now in our second year as part of the Fargespill kompani network, we work closely with Fargespill companies across Norway, sharing ideas, experiences and a common artistic vision.

Fargespill is much more than a performance. It is a philosophy rooted in the belief that people can meet as equals, learn from one another and create something beautiful together. Through music, singing and dance, stories, traditions and personal experiences are brought to life, reminding us that our differences do not have to divide us – they can make our community richer.

Description

Since 2016, Fargespill Narvik has presented annual performances that inspire and move audiences. Throughout the years, we have continued to be amazed by the talent, commitment and ability of our young performers to communicate music and emotion across languages and cultures.

The Fargespill philosophy, developed by Fargespill Bergen, is built on curiosity, respect and a desire to learn from one another. We ask our participants what they can share with us from their home countries and cultures, allowing their experiences and traditions to become an integral part of the artistic expression.

Our goal is to create joy for everyone involved – both those on stage and those experiencing the performance from the audience. When different musical traditions come together, new expressions emerge, new relationships are formed and our understanding of one another grows stronger.

In this year's anniversary performance, A World in Motion, we explore movement in its many forms. The Earth rotates, water flows and the sun sustains life. Our emotions move us, while our encounters with others influence how we think, feel and act. At the same time, we live in a world marked by uncertainty and rapid change, affecting all of us in different ways. Through music, Fargespill Narvik hopes to create a space where we can acknowledge both the challenges we face and the things that unite us.

This year, we are also delighted to welcome Narvik School Band and its drill team as part of this musical journey. Together, we create a performance in which different artistic expressions meet, complement and strengthen one another. Featuring talented singers, outstanding dancers, skilled musicians and a vibrant stage, the production promises a complete experience for the eyes, ears and heart.

Let yourself be carried away by rhythms and melodies from around the world. Experience the energy, joy and collaboration that emerge when people from different backgrounds come together to create something meaningful. We hope the performance will inspire reflection, stir emotions and remind us of just how much we have in common.

Through music, Fargespill Narvik seeks to bring people closer together. A World in Motion will be no exception.

A warm welcome to our spectacular anniversary celebration!
