Bathing Spots

There are several magnificent bathing spots in the Narvik region.

The region has many hidden bathing gems where you can find your own little secluded bay. Everything from organized bathing spots with builtup infrastructure to the slightly more inaccessible gems that you have to have a boat or go on a longer trip to get to. There is something for everyone, but what they all have in common is that they are not overcrowded and you can enjoy the sun around the clock during the summer months.

The coral beaches in Efjord

Experience the natural beauty of Efjord, just an hour's drive south of Narvik

The fjord boasts some of the most stunning white coral beaches in the north, with crystal-clear waters, vibrant reefs, and picturesque islets and islands home to nesting herons. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and offering plenty of opportunities for hiking and recreational activities, Efjord is the perfect destination for a beach paradise getaway.

To get to your destination, start your journey from Narvik and follow these directions

  1. Head south on the main road E6 for approximately one hour.
  2. Look for the Efjord Bridge and cross it.
  3. After crossing the bridge, take the first left turn.
  4. You'll come across a parking area with restroom facilities and garbage disposal.
  5. From there, follow the gravel path leading down to the sea.
  6. Continue along the path for about 300 meters towards the left, in the direction of the bridge.
  7. Keep going until you arrive at the beautiful white coral beach.

Ornesvika is a popular destination for swimming and outdoor activities, located just outside the city center of Narvik.

The bay offers a range of amenities, including a diving tower, sunbathing areas, a bathing jetty, toilet facilities, and 2 prepared barbecue areas with benches. Additionally, there are playground equipment and a basketball hoop for added fun. Spend a day enjoying the crystal-clear waters, grilling up a tasty meal, and soaking up the sunshine at Ornesvika.

To get to your destination, start your journey from Narvik and follow these directions

By foot:

  1. Begin by walking down to the marina.
  2. From there, follow the beach promenade in a northern direction.
  3. Continue along the promenade for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the cove with a diving tower.

By car:

  1. Start by heading north on Rombaksveien E6.
  2. Take a left turn onto Teknologiveien.
  3. Then, take the second right onto Ornesveien.
  4. Drive straight ahead for about 500 meters until you reach the parking lot at Ornesvika.

The beach is long and stretches north from the Rombaksbrua Bridge, offering plenty of space for swimming, sunbathing, and other outdoor activities. To get to your destination, start your journey from Narvik and follow these directions

  1. Begin by driving north out of Narvik centrum.
  2. After a short distance, take the third exit at the turnaround, onto Rombaksveien.
  3. Continue driving along Rombaksveien for approximately 15 kilometers, following the fjord.
  4. Look for the parking lot on the left side of the road, which will be located 700 meters after passing the Rombaken bridge

  1. To reach your destination, begin by driving south on the main road E6 for approximately 17km.
  2. Shortly before reaching the Skjomen Bridge, make a left turn onto the Skjomenveien.
  3. Continue in the direction of Elvegård, and then take another left onto Sør-skjomveien, which is situated near the Golf Park.
  4. Once on Sør-skjomveien, cross the small bridge that spans the Skjomen river, and continue on the opposite side until you arrive at the parking area on your right.
