Children’s Day and the Costume Parade
This year’s event will have an exciting new setting with its own outdoor stage on Dronningens gate, part of a larger cultural area in the city. This provides space for even more spectators and, not least, the opportunity to gather outdoors – creating a truly special atmosphere.
The costume parade begins at Frydenlund School and continues left at the roundabout by Kongens gate, before taking the first right towards Narvikguten. From there, the parade proceeds to Torvhalltaket, where the celebration continues at the outdoor stage. As tradition holds, the Rallar Club will sell cakes, coffee, and soft drinks. This year, you will find them in the festival tent in the outdoor area.
The entertainment is a collaboration with Narvik Cultural School. Students will share the history of the railroad workers (rallars) through theater and song, offering the audience a vivid and atmospheric look back at the roots of both the city and the festival. We will also enjoy hearing songs from “The City That Disappeared” once again, this time performed by wonderful children’s voices.
Dress up as a rallar, princess, robot, superhero – or whatever you like. Here, imagination sets the limits!
