Arctic Ski Resorts
High above the 68th parallel, where Arctic light shapes both landscape and rhythm, a new way to experience skiing in the north takes form. Arctic Ski Resorts brings together three distinct mountain destinations; Narvik in Norway, and Riksgränsen and Björkliden in Sweden, into one seamless cross-border ski experience.
Launched for the 2024/25 season, the collaboration opens up a region where dramatic fjords, reliable snow, and vast mountain landscapes unfold across borders. With one single ski pass, skiers and snowboarders gain access to three resorts, three expressions of Arctic skiing, and one continuous journey through the north.
Three Resorts, One journey
Each mountain has its own character, shaped by geography, culture, and history. Björkliden offers calm, panoramic skiing set deep within Lapland’s wilderness. Riksgränsen delivers raw energy, long seasons, and legendary freeride terrain beneath the midnight sun. Narvikfjellet rises directly above the fjord and the city, blending alpine skiing with urban life and a future World Championship stage.
Together, they form the Arctic Ski Resorts; a collection defined not by uniformity, but by contrast. Different rhythms. Different landscapes. One shared Arctic identity. With the Arctic Ski Pass, guests are free to design their own journey. Ski one resort or all three. Stay in one place or move with the snow, the light, and the conditions. The system is built for flexibility, allowing each day, and each mountain, to shape the experience.
A Region Without Boundaries
The Arctic Ski Resorts partnership is the first of its kind in the far north. It connects Norway and Sweden not only through infrastructure, but through a shared mountain culture rooted in exploration, openness, and respect for nature.
Daily shuttle transfers link Narvik, Riksgränsen, and Björkliden, with travel times of abut an hour. The route itself is part of the experience, winding through Arctic mountain scenery and across the Norwegian–Swedish border. For those who prefer to travel slowly, the SJ Train follows the same line, offering one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys between ski resorts.
Across the three destinations, guests gain access to 16 lifts and 44 slopes, dramatically expanding the ski terrain beyond what any single mountain can offer.
Freedom and Variety
Arctic Ski Resorts is created for skiers and snowboarders who want more than a traditional ski holiday. The variety is its strength: steep fjord-facing runs, wide-open alpine terrain, playful off-piste lines, beginner-friendly slopes, and long seasons defined by Northern Lights and midnight sun.
Local culture and hospitality are woven into the experience, from historic mountain lodges and small villages to contemporary dining and après-ski. The journey moves effortlessly between wilderness and community, silence and social life.
One Pass. Endless Possibilities
Whether visiting for a few days or staying for a longer Arctic adventure, the Arctic Ski Pass offers flexible access to the entire region. Ski when and where conditions are best. Follow the snow. Follow the light. Dramatic fjords. Reliable powder. Vast mountain landscapes. Three distinct resorts, connected by one shared vision.
This is Arctic skiing as it was meant to be, open, varied, and deeply connected to the north.
