Fishing in the Arctic
Participants are invited to join an experienced fishing guide on an excursion to one of the nearby lakes around Björkliden, where Arctic char, trout, and grayling await – all delicious and prized catches.
The tour begins early with a short drive to a nearby lake, followed by a quiet walk through the forest as the sun rises. At the lake, the guide shares useful tips and mountain fishing techniques before lines are cast and flies are tied. While guests try their luck, the guide prepares a campfire or lights the stove. If a fish is caught and deemed large enough to keep, it may be grilled over open flame and eaten on the spot. Traditional Swedish coffee is brewed directly over the fire and served with fika by the lake. Few things rival a fresh cup of coffee and fire-cooked grayling in the heart of nature.
For those wishing to fish on their own, equipment can be rented from the Sport Shop. A valid fishing license for the area is required and can be purchased online.
