Fotefar & Bjørn Tomren
Bjørn Tomren is widely known from the yodeling and accordion duo Polkabjørn & Kleine Heine. In 2021, he won the popular NRK competition show Stjernekamp, and this fall he appears on the same channel in the comedy series Våre beste år. With his unique style and exceptional performance abilities, Tomren has quickly become a national favorite, and he has even been described as “the coolest artist in Stjernekamp history.”
The folk music group Fotefar has been regional musicians with Scene Nord since 2007. Ragnhild Furebotten, who also plays in Hekla Stålstrenga, is the trio’s solid folk musician and melody maker. Lena Jinnegren has explored countless genres and uses her voice in just as many ways, while Bendik Lund Haanshus — with his classical training and rock background — adds yet another layer of musical variety. Together, Fotefar has developed a distinctive musical identity, and over the years they have created numerous productions, both as a trio and in collaboration with artists such as Aasmund Nordstoga, Moddi, and Tove Karoline Knutsen.
For this production, they are joined by additional musicians on trumpet/electronics, percussion, and tuba/bass. The performance features throat singing, yodeling, and other favorites from Tomren’s repertoire, combined with traditional tunes and songs from Fotefar.
It’s going to be a real powerhouse of a concert!
