Description

We’ll take you from downtown Narvik on a beautiful drive along the shore of the Skjomen fjord and up into the mountains close to the Swedish border. From here we can access the large glacier by the highest mountain in the area: Storsteinsfjellet. The hike up to the glacier takes us through a spectacular mountain landscape, where you can eventually see the glacier and the summit of Storsteinsfjellet. By the foot of the glacier we will put on crampons, ice axes and ropes before we step onto the ice and snow on the glacier. From here we will explore the magical blue and white world of the glacier in a pace and a manner that is suitable for the weather and the group. On the drive back to Narvik we will have a short stop by the fjord so that you can have a refreshing dip in the sea water.

We might also take you to a glacier visible from downtown Narvik, on the mountain Sovende Dronning (The Sleeping Queen). Which alternative we choose depends on the weather, the group and current ice/snow conditions.
