Growth of the little Soil - that's where I belong (for f*** sake)!
på Narvik KulturhusDescription
Kristian Fr. Figenschow reflects Hamsun's "Growth of the Soil" in the North Norwegian storytelling tradition and theater history. From the kitchen corner, humorist Kristian juggles his own interpretation of Hamsun's Nobel Prize-winning novel with anecdotes, readings and stories. Only helped by the kitchen utensils he has at hand. In addition to characters from "Growth of the Soil", we meet figures brought to life by the storytellers who came after Hamsun: Zapffe, Dybwad, Arntzen and more.
Knut Nærum was asked to write a play for Kristian Figenschow based on "Growth of the Soil". While Kristian was cheering and working on the text, he discovered that "this book is the start of the North Norwegian storytelling tradition!" And not only that - he saw that Hamsun's masterpiece also reflects the groundbreaking work that was carried out during the establishment of Hålogaland Teater! An actor in great form thus highlights important parts of our history in this humorous and entertaining performance.
