Lars Bremnes - Big Songs in a Small Language

Lars Bremnes invites audiences into a poetic and atmospheric musical world with a concert performance inspired by his EP release of the same name from autumn 2024. Together with two outstanding musicians, he has refined the trio format into an intimate and expressive experience where musical interaction takes centre stage. Enhanced by carefully designed lighting and scenography, the performance provides a beautiful setting for his Norwegian reinterpretations of some of the most beloved songs in popular music history.

Description

Over many years, Lars Bremnes has collected songs that resonate deeply with him—songs whose melodies and lyrics have become part of his own artistic journey. In this performance, audiences will hear his personal reinterpretations of classics such as “All Of Me” and “All The Things You Are,” alongside surprising adaptations of more contemporary works, including Taylor Swift’s “Seven,” reimagined in Northern Norwegian dialect as “Sju.”

Working closely with director Ivar Tindberg and musicians Bernt Rune Stray and Anders Engen, Bremnes has created a poetic musical space where tradition meets the present day. The result is an intimate and elegant concert experience that highlights the timeless qualities of these songs while giving them a unique Northern Norwegian voice. Featuring selections from the EP as well as a carefully chosen collection of additional songs, this performance is perfectly suited to the reflective atmosphere of the autumn season.
