Moddi and Kajsa Balto at Eveneshallen

Moddi and Kajsa Balto are finally returning to Evenes for a spectacular concert at Eveneshallen on March 6, 2027. Two beloved artists come together in words and music for a unique concert experience.

Description

In spring 2027, Moddi and Kajsa Balto will release Árbemearka, Arvemerke, a musical friendship album that bridges languages and cultures. They now bring this music to Eveneshallen.

Born and raised in Oslo, Kajsa Balto has established herself as one of the leading voices of a new generation of Sámi musicians. Drawing on traditional joik, she combines Sámi musical heritage with modern pop and world music. Her album Sámi juovllat led to a sold-out concert at the Oslo Opera House with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra.

Originally from Senja, Moddi is one of the leading artists of Norway's contemporary folk movement, known for songs such as House by the Sea, Togsang, and the award-winning album Unsongs. He has toured internationally across five continents and received the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann Award) for Kæm va du? (2013) and Bråtebrann (2022). On Árbemearka, Arvemerke, Moddi sings in Sámi for the first time.

On Árbemearka, Arvemerke, Norwegian and Sámi traditions merge into a single storytelling voice as Moddi and Kajsa Balto explore the meeting point between Northern Norwegian folk songs and Sámi narrative joik. The music moves between the intimate and the grand, as the two artists explore each other's worlds through words and melodies.
