As part of Narvik Church's 100th anniversary, we welcome you to a special event in collaboration with Aurora Kino and Narvik Church.
In 1925, when Narvik Church was inaugurated, silent films were still common – accompanied by live music performed by cinema organists or pianists. This evening, we recreate that experience as the church transforms into a cinema space.
We present Charlie Chaplin’s silent film Shoulder Arms (1918), with live organ improvisation by church organist Bjørn Andor Drage. Before the screening, he will also perform music by composers who lived through wartime exile, as well as Kjempeviseslåtten by Harald Sæverud.
This is a one-time performance in Narvik Church – a powerful blend of film, music, and history.
