Description
This dogsled expedition is for guests who want to get close to Arctic wilderness and the daily rhythm of travelling with sled dogs. Each participant drives their own team of 4–6 dogs and follows the natural pace of the landscape through Dividalen National Park in Northern Norway.
The experience is as much about the partnership between people and dogs as it is about the scenery. You learn how to harness, feed and handle the dogs, and you are responsible for your own team throughout the expedition. The guides follow the group all the way, provide training and adjust the route according to weather, snow conditions and the group.
The area feels remote and raw, but it has been used seasonally by Sámi reindeer herders for centuries. The route partly follows old migration routes between grazing areas, and there may be opportunities to encounter reindeer along the trail. Nights are spent in mountain cabins, reindeer herding cabins or expedition tents, depending on conditions.
This is a simple, nature-based way to experience Northern Norway, with little infrastructure and a strong sense of distance from everyday life. Weather and mountain conditions require flexibility, and the programme is adjusted along the way.

- No previous dogsledding experience is required, but you should like dogs
- The activity requires that you can help the dogs uphill and brake actively downhill
- The route is adjusted daily according to weather and snow conditions
- Accommodation may be in simple mountain cabins without electricity or running water, or in expedition tents
- The organiser recommends using a duffel bag rather than a suitcase
