Sámi Handicraft and Language: Open Duodji Meeting

In celebration of Sámi Language Week, Narvik Sámi Association invites you to an open duodji (Sámi handicraft) gathering at Narvik public library.

Friendly duodji enthusiasts meet around the activity tables on the first floor. You are welcome to bring your own duodji projects or receive guidance in making tin thread bracelets. Material kits will be available for purchase.

This time, we are fortunate to welcome Ann Mari Thomassen, head of the language center at Várdobáiki, who will hold a mini-course on Sámi duodji terminology. She will connect her teachings to our activities, helping us learn the words for the materials and tools we use – and maybe some pleasant everyday phrases too!

This promises to be a fun and educational gathering.

Bures boahtin – welcome!
