Welcome the New Year with Presence and Warmth – Cacao Ceremony at Narvik Yoga
A cacao ceremony is a conscious and heart-centered practice where we drink ceremonially prepared raw cacao to support inner calm, clarity, and connection – both within ourselves and with the group. The practice is inspired by ancient Mesoamerican traditions and weaves together intention setting, meditation, music, and gentle movement.
We use high-quality ceremonial cacao that has a mild uplifting and heart-opening effect, without the sharp stimulation of caffeine. To preserve its active compounds, the cacao is prepared at a low temperature and served in a higher, ceremonial dose.
The evening is guided by Jonna Hevosmaa, an herbalist with a deep curiosity and passion for plant medicine. She uses cacao regularly as a support for meditation, mental clarity, and as a nourishing alternative to coffee. Jonna has several years of experience exploring the medicinal properties of plants and is currently studying to become a certified herbal therapist at Tunsberg Medical School. She has also attended courses on Nordic medicinal herbs and received teaching from Swiss herbalist and researcher Esther Gerber. With warmth and enthusiasm, she hosts courses, retreats, and workshops. You can find her on Instagram at @vasta.no.
The cacao served during this ceremony comes from Myrvann Cacao, known for their high-quality, ethically sourced cacao - perfectly suited for ceremonial use
