Authentic Reindeer Encounter and Sámi Culture Experience
At the scenic camp by Lake Andsvatnet, visitors are invited to experience a close, warm, and authentic encounter with reindeer. Here, guests are welcomed into a living Sámi cultural heritage, where they can greet and feed the curious animals while the guide shares insights into how the reindeer has been the very heart of Sámi life, belief, and tradition for centuries. The camp is conveniently located, with Bardufoss Hotel only about a 10-minute drive away.
After meeting the reindeer, the group is welcomed into the cosy lavvu, where the fire crackles and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. A simple hot meal is served, along with warm or cold drinks and biscuits—offering a taste of genuine Sámi hospitality. Inside the lavvu, authentic Sámi artifacts are displayed, providing a deeper understanding of traditional craftsmanship, lifestyle, and history.
The hosts also share personal stories and old tales from everyday Sámi life, adding both depth and warmth to the experience.
