Hålogaland Teater - Stones in His Pockets

When an international film company arrives in the small village in Northern Norway, local guys Charles and Jacob land jobs as extras. This places them at the very bottom of the film production hierarchy. Here, cynical producers, self-centered divas, and a foreign director rule the scene, all driven solely by profit. The entire village is turned upside down, and a cultural clash between the local community and the international film crew becomes inevitable.

When Northern Irish actor and playwright Marie Jones wrote Stones in His Pockets in 1998, the play was first performed as pub theatre, but it wasn’t long before it drew full houses in London’s West End and on stages around the world — including Tromsø and Hålogaland Teater in 2002. The production was a huge success and played to full houses. At the time, the 18 characters in the play were portrayed by Kristian Figenschow and Ketil Høegh. Now, two decades later, we’re staging the play once again, this time directed by Ketil Høegh, and featuring actors Alexander Rindestu and Jonas Delerud. Translated into Northern Norwegian by Ragnar Olsen.
