Marie Løvås has been hovering just beneath the surface in recent years, but has now truly stepped into the spotlight with her critically acclaimed album Alle mine svar blei om til såpebobleregn, which won a Spellemannprisen (Spellemann Award) in the Singer-Songwriter category in 2024. The same year, she also received the Norwegian Songwriters’ Forum artist grant, and has been highlighted as a songwriter and performer with a rare gift for lyrics and communication. With a crystal-clear voice and strong songwriting, Marie has, according to Dagsavisen, played her way “into the absolute elite of Norwegian singer-songwriters.” Her songs are melodic, catchy, and unpolished, showcasing her keen observational ability when it comes to relationships, emotions, and lived experiences.

Julie Henrikke deeply impresses and captivates audiences with a strong stage presence and rock-solid material. When she released her debut album Hver gang noe minner om deg in 2023, it was warmly received by critics and nominated for a Spellemannprisen in the singer-songwriter category. The album reveals “a reflective artist with a talent for putting both subjective feelings and life in general into words — and weaving them together,” wrote Aftenposten, awarding it five out of six. Her lyrics are of a rare caliber — whimsical and at times witty — capturing both everyday moments and grand emotions. The following year, Julie Henrikke received the NOPA-prisen in the open category, and was described by the jury as an artist who masters the art of writing music that is genuine and personal, yet never intrusive or self-indulgent.
