Evensong at Narvik Church – a Beautiful Musical Experience

Have you ever visited an English cathedral and heard a traditional boys’ or girls’ choir sing? On Sunday, May 31st, Trinity Sunday, you can experience a Norwegian version of this rich tradition at Narvik kirke.

Narvik kirkes kammerkor invites you to an Evensong service together with organist Julia Harbrecht and conductor Ingjerd Grøm. The liturgist for the evening is Jan Egil Kimo Ingebretsen.

Evensong is a musical evening service featuring classical church music in the Anglican tradition. The liturgy, motets, psalms, and chorales are performed in the English cathedral style as it has evolved over centuries.

The audience will also hear Norwegian compositions, including Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by Svein Møller, written within the same tradition. Together, the music creates a beautiful and unique experience filled with reflection, atmosphere, and musical depth.

The last Evensong held in Narvik in 2022 was warmly received by many attendees. Welcome!
