The Ice Cream Kiosk
The glass kiosk is located in a former neighborhood kiosk in the district of Frydenlund in Narvik. In the small room, chef Vegard Stormo has created a restaurant where the seasons, memories and ingredients from the north set the bar for every meal. The atmosphere is warm and informal, with an open grill, vintage tableware and music from vinyl as a natural part of the evening.
The menu changes according to what the region offers right now. Here, ingredients from foragers, local farms, forests, fjords and neighbourhoods can find their way onto the plate. The dishes are presented along the way, without a printed menu, so that the meal can develop around the table.
Vegard Stormo's cooking is shaped by an upbringing with mountains, fjords, foraging and food over primus, as well as experience from Stavanger, Tromsø, Svalbard, Hurtigruten and Tinja Fjellgård, among others. Together with sommelier Børge Strøm, he gives the Glass Kiosk a personal expression where technology, northern Norwegian ingredients and local hosts meet close to the guests.
