Welcome to Mining Camp 2026 at Ballangen Museum! Mining Camp at Ballangen Museum has become a wonderful summer tradition, where we explore how mining operations were carried out. The Ofoten Amateur Geological Association will be joining us again this year, bringing a fascinating collection of minerals and rocks. You’ll also have the opportunity to try a metal detector! They will set up a nature trail with questions and challenges for visitors to test their knowledge. There will also be guided tours inside the museum, where you can see the impressive model of the Bjørkaasen Mines Processing Plant (Vaskeriet) and the exhibition surrounding it. Coffee and tea will be served, and Ballangen Historical Society will provide delicious cake. Refreshments are included in the admission price. Family event admission: NOK 100 per family. Mining Camp at Ballangen Museum is part of the Arctic Kids concept.
