"Places i have never been"
"It is about the strong bond between humanity and nature – a bond that does not necessarily depend on concrete experiences or specific geographical locations, but can just as easily arise through imagination, longing, and inner imagery.
The landscapes emerging in these works exist in a tension between the familiar and the unknown; they contain traces of something real, while opening up to something dreamlike and undefinable. In these works, Beyer investigates how memories – both personal and collective – can shape our experience of nature. The colors, shapes, and textures carry echoes of places we think we know, without being easily placed. Thus, a form of inner geography emerges, where the boundaries between external landscapes and internal states are blurred.
'Places I Have Never Been' is an exploration of how we can feel a sense of belonging to something we cannot point to, and how landscapes can exist just as strongly within us as outside of us."
