Ski touring around Narvik
With a population of 18.000 Narvik is a lively city with hotels, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs. It also has a ski resort, Narvikfjellet, within walking distance from the city center. Narvikfjellet has been selected as the host of the Alpine World Championships in 2029. This means that the town and the ski resort is currently preparing for hosting this event, with big plans for improving and expanding the lift-accessed skiing and snowboarding.
The variety in terrain to be found around Narvik means that we can adapt to the current weather and snow conditions. If it is snowing and there is bad visibility – we do some tree skiing (we have many good spots with trees up to 600 meters above sea level). If the snow cover at sea level is poor – we start higher up (we have several roads that give access to higher elevated terrain). If it is overcast and bad visibility – we can often find another option with better weather (it is often different when you move to the next fjord or over to the high mountain terrain in Sweden).
