Description
The Historical Mining trail takes you through an area where history is still visible in the landscape. In Bogen, there are many traces of the extensive mining that took place here from 1905 to 1939, with buildings, ruins, old foundations and interventions in the terrain that tell of a time when mining and industry shaped the local community.
The trail runs along Sporet, the old railway line, from the area by Evenes community center and on towards Kleiva. Along the way, you will meet nine signposted points that convey cultural monuments from the mining operation that make it easy to walk the walk on your own.
This is a historical walk with clear local roots. You don't just walk past history, you see how it is left in the ground, the buildings and the terrain. Here the guest gets an educational encounter with the mining history and a rewarding walk through a varied cultural-historical area.
