Mun Lávllun Sámegillii – I Sing in Sámi
Would you like to experience the Sami language through music? This autumn, everyone who enjoys singing is invited to join an open singing group in Narvik. Together, we will learn songs in Northern Sami and prepare performances for Giellavahkku – Sami Language Week.
Description
The singing group begins on 24 August and meets every other Monday (odd-numbered weeks) at 7:00 p.m. at UNN Narvik. Participants will learn a selection of songs in Northern Sami in a welcoming and relaxed environment, with the goal of performing them during events held throughout Sami Language Week (Week 43).
No previous experience with the Sami language or choir singing is required. Everyone is welcome, regardless of singing experience or ability. The aim is to explore and celebrate the Sami language through music, community, and the joy of singing.
