One of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles
Every winter, Northern Norway becomes home to thousands of herring, attracting massive pods of orcas—sometimes 50–60 swimming together. Guests may also encounter humpback whales, fin whales, and even mighty sperm whales.
November – prime whale season
Depending on the weather, some nights may be spent onboard the sailboat, following the whales to the very spots where they feed. Their exact location can never be guaranteed, but that is part of the thrill—the guide will do everything possible to bring guests into the heart of the action.
Fjordfront base in Reinfjord
The week is centered around a cozy fjord house, complete with a private sauna and a sailboat at the doorstep. Each day, guests head out on the fjord to observe whales in their natural habitat.
Fly to Tromsø, or take a bus or drive with a rental car from Narvik. From Tromsø, take two speedboats via Skjervøy to reach the remote base in Reinfjord.
Snorkeling for experienced divers only
The snorkeling option is reserved for professional or highly experienced swimmers with their own equipment, ensuring both safety and quality. Thanks to the sailboat, the trip can be tailored to the best possible locations, including overnight stays near the feeding grounds.
Ethical encounters
Every encounter follows strict local whale-watching guidelines. Orcas and whales are observed without disturbance, and snorkeling is only done when the pods are calm and static.
Guests only need to bring warm clothes and good spirits— everything else is taken care of.
